Our Ministry Team at Shalom
Pastor Dan and Jill have been partners in life and ministry for almost 2 decades. They have two beautiful sons, Nicholas and Nathan. After serving Shalom as Associate Pastor from 2005-2012, Pastor Dan served The Bridge Church in Malverne, NY as Lead Pastor for just shy of 9 years where they saw remarkable growth and tangible community-wide impact. Pastor Dan's heartbeat for ministry revolves, in large part, around impacting the community in and outside of the church and preaching for life change. "When people think of Pinckney, I want them to think of Shalom and to know that we are a place where hope is found." Pastor Dan is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve Shalom and the greater Pinckney/Livingston County area for this next season of Shalom's life. It is his hope that lives are truly better and faith and community grows immeasurably for the people who call Shalom home, for the greater community, and wherever God leads this church in this next season to live out God's purposes for their lives. Greater things have yet to come and greater things are still to be done. Pastor Dan also serves on the Board of Directors for 6:8 Ministries in Costa Rica. Are you looking for a church to call home? Pastor Dan would like to be the first to say: "Welcome Home!"

Tony serves a very important function overseeing the music, drama and tech ministries. Just ask the pastor! His official title is DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE ARTS AND WORSHIP, which means he’s in charge of (1) planning the music for each service, assigning musicians and preparing them to lead the congregation in worship; (2) coordinating the drama team which includes actors, writers, directors, and occasionally, animals—(although, to be honest, it can sometimes be difficult telling them apart); and finally, (3) assembling the finest computer and sound techs Shalom has to offer, guaranteeing that every worship service will run smoothly, free of glitches, audio feedback and computer malfunctions, —hey, we can dream, can’t we?
His job also allows him to indulge in my musical passions: playing keyboard (acoustic and electronic pianos and organ); singing (solos and ensembles); conducting (choirs and instrumental ensembles); and composing (piano, organ, choral, handbell and chamber music, many of which are published). Tony’s other interests include reading, studying WW II history, and recording. |
James has grown up at Shalom Lutheran Church, and he has been an active leader of our Music Ministry. His role is to assist both our Director of Creative Arts & Worship and our Director of Family Life with programs that live into Shalom's Mission and Values.
