2017 Holiday Bazaar
November 18, 9am-3pm
There is still time to sign up for the Holiday Bazaar! Forms are available in the lobby or by emailing the office at laura@shalomlife.org.  The Bazaar takes place November 18th from 9am-3pm. We have the best cookie sale ever.  All Bakers are needed to help make this our most successful sale ever. All cookie donations can be brought to the church on Friday November 17th. We appreciate your willingness to help! Also Featuring:  Concessions, Free picture with Santa 11-1pm. Kids Face Painting 10-1pm, and a Christmas sing along 12-2pm.

Lifegroups

Vanishing Grace: What Ever Happened to the Good News?

5 weekly sessions beginning October 4th @ 7:00 – 8:15pm. Nursery & Kids ministry will be provided. A pizza dinner will begin offered at 6:30pm each week for those interested. Please sign up at the Welcome Center today! We simply do life together in a LifeGroup.

 

LEAD Congregational Survey

The next phase of the LEAD Congregational Assessment is for the congregation to complete the LEAD Congregational Survey.  The Survey consists of three (3) questions and will be addressed during both worship services on Sunday, November 12th.   It will be open to members and regular attenders, adults and young adults.  The Survey itself will take about 15 minutes to complete.  A paper version and an online format via a link to Survey Monkey will be made available in order to gather the feedback.  The online link will remain open from Sunday morning, November 12th through Monday evening, November 13th
Paper copies will be made available in the lobby on Sunday, November 19th for those unable to be in attendance on November 12thand can be returned to either the church office or the Welcome Center.

Join us for worship and Family Life Night from 5-7pm. Everyone is invited to join us and bring a friend.  Potluck dinner is at 5pm, followed by intergenerational activities to help grow relationships and our faith!

It Stops With Students

Shalom is teaming up with It Stops With Students to help remind our community that providing alcohol to minors is illegal.  Did you know that 62.5% of Livingston County high school students reported “it is sort of easy” or “very easy” to get alcohol? (Michigan profile for healthy youth 2015-2016)  The penalties for providing alcohol to minors may include fines of up to $2,500 and/or up to 90 days in jail. YOGA

You are invited to do a downward facing dog from 9:15 – 10:15am on Thursdays at Shalom!  These sessions take place in the west wing of the building. Yoga mats and water bottles recommended. Cost is $5 per session.
 

 

 

Funeral Luncheon News

Bonnie, Cindy, and the “old” team (Cindy’s word – not mine!) are retiring from the Funeral Luncheons. Barb Poyhonen has taken over the reins and could use some help creating our Funeral Luncheon Dream Team!
