Student Ministry Support Teams

Whether you are a parent or an adult in the church, we are always looking for ways to partner with you. We have identifited a variety of ways that you can connect with our ministry depending on your availability. Please read the list below and check the areas that you would be willing to serve in. Cheerleading Team [Time Commitment: Minimal]

Our “Cheerleading” team consists of people who show support for our youth ministry and our leaders. Cheerleaders have no specific responsibilities; they just shower us with confidence and support and talk highly about our ministry. That’s it…real easy. We’ll keep you informed about what’s going on in the ministry, and you talk us up.

Resource Team [Time Commitment: Minimal]

Do you have a tent? A boat? A van? Would you like to help supply our special events with stuff that we may need that you’ve got? Any special skills to offer? For example, you may not want to go with us on our next retreat, but you’d be happy to loan us your tent or van. We always need “stuff” and you may have some that could help us. Or, you’ve got some specific skill that we could use in our ministry.

Prayer "Engine" Team [Time Commitment: 30 min/week]

We really need people on their knees praying for the student ministry. We call it the engine team because we believe that the amount of prayer will directly correlate with our potential to impact youth and families; Prayer is the engine for effective ministry. We’re looking for people that can commit to pray for the youth ministry, kids, leaders, and families.

Food Team [Time Commitment: 1 hour/month]

We are always in need of help with coordinating or providing food for various events and groups. If you could offer your skills in the kitchen, or skills in the supermarket, we could really use the help!!!

Chaperone Team [Time Commitment: 2 hours/month]

Alright, so we’re going bowling this Saturday and we’ve got to transport 50 kids from church to the alley! Yikes, we need drivers and vehicles! Got a van, SUV, or simply are willing to help move bodies from point A to B? We need you! The Chaperone team helps drive kids when we have a large event and helps control the chaos wherever we’re going.

Signs and Wonders Team [Time Commitment: 2 hours/month]

One of the hardest things for a student to do is set foot in a church for the first time. We want to let our visitors know that they are loved and valued. We get addresses of first time visitors and put little gift bags in their front lawn. Includes stuffing gift bags and deliveries.

Cafe Team [Time Commitment: 2 hours/month]

Every week on Sunday night during Emerge, we open up the Cafe to our students from 6:15-6:45 p.m. We need help setting up and serving food, serving coffee and drinks, and making the cafe a welcoming enviornment.

Lead Team [Time Commitment: 15+ hours/month]

If you have a real heart for students and for God, we'd love to sit down with you and talk about being on our leadership team. This is the highest level of involvement and commitment within Emerge, and is all about working hands on with students on a weekly basis.
